A long time ago when I first received my first computer, Vic-20 I could remember only the geeks got a computer. They were unwieldy, required learning commands etc, oh and cost a small fortune. But oh how the times have changed, it's the internets faults. Now folks buy computers to chat online, facebook or myspace etc. but exactly how a computer works, what the control panel is for etc. they just don't care and why should they, after all that was what folks like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs wanted.
And that's one of the problems, a computer and OS just has to work for most computer users today right out of the box, no fiddling around, playing with configurations etc.

And that's one of the reasons why Vista was so hated, they are not sheep. Just folks who want to run their favorite programs, and when that doesn't happen, well even I hate calling tech support.

I did not upgrade to Vista for other more technical reasons, and the company I work for did the same thing a lot of companies did that did not make the upgrade. We ran one computer with Vista and found that it did not play well with our databases, Microsoft wanted upgrades that could of damaged our databases and in today's world of internet and large database worth billions that will not be happening. It either works with our databases and related software or it gets tossed.

I know I suck at writing and explaining what I'm trying to say, but hope I did ok.
